My brother recently ordered a Yamaha P95 on Amazon and he literally can’t wait for it to arrive. He’s been a digital piano fanatic for some time now and whenever a new one comes out he immediately gets excited.
When this new one arrives, the whole house will be full of his music. He’s not a bad pianist but after a while it gets pretty tiring. Sometimes you just want some peace and quiet. The good news is that my brother has promised me that he’ll play with headphones, so I won’t have to hear the noise.
When he plays the piano, it’s like he’s in his own world. It’s amazine to watch him play. His eyes are normally shut; he’s totally caught up in the music. It’s 100% concentration.
I envy him in a way. I’ve never been that absorbed in anything. I struggle to concentrate. All my friends and family know that I have a very short attention span. It’s probably why I’ve never been able to learn an instrument.
If you want to learn an instrument, you have to be focused. You need to practise for hours at a time. I’ve just never managed to do this. Maybe it’s time I asked my brother for some advice.
