Republican U.S. Senate Candidate Bill Binnie issued the following statement regarding the health care legislation moving through the Senate on Saturday evening:
“I am strongly opposed to the Democrat health care bill now being debated in the Senate. It will cost more than $849 billion and create 118 new bureaucracies and government programs as well as a public option. At 2074 pages long, the bill will cost taxpayers almost $410 million per page and denies Americans personal choice.
Our current health care system needs reform, but that doesn’t mean we should throw common sense out the window. Clearly, Democrats are no longer interested in representing everyday New Hampshire citizens.
Tonight’s vote to debate this bill is a sad reminder of why we need to bring Granite State common sense values to Washington.”
